Richard Heggie

Heggies Director - Richard Heggie.

Richard Heggie is the company's founder and Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is responsible for Corporate Management and takes corporate oversight of the company's OHS and Quality Management Systems. He has served as Chairman of the Association of Australian Acoustical Consultants, as a Federal Councillor for the Australian Acoustical Society and been a Member of various Technical Committees of the Standards Association of Australia.

Richard is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia and has over thirty years' experience in acoustics and vibration and broad environmental impact assessment. He represents major client projects at Public Inquiries and Land and Environment Court Hearings and plays a key role in bringing an experienced and innovative approach to the company's broadening range of client services.

Richard takes a keen interest in the public consultation processes for controversial or high profile projects and maintains a general overview of all work carried out by the company.

David is the Managing Director and Chief Executive of SLR Holdings Limited and Chairman of SLR Consulting Limited and SLR International Corporation having established the company in 1994. David has overall responsibility for the management of the group, working with the other directors and senior managers. Under his guidance, SLR has become one of the fastest growing and most profitable environmental consultancies in the UK.

Prior to joining SLR, David was a Senior Manager with Golder Associates, a major international environmental consultant. He was responsible for the management of the environmental group in the UK. As one of the most senior of the UK management team he also played a key role in the European operations of Golder Associates.

Neil has been Managing Director of SLR Consulting Ltd since 2001 and is also a Director of SLR Management Ltd and SLR (Ireland). Neil has direct responsibility for the day to day operation of the UK consulting business and the development and growth of the company. Since 2001, SLR Consulting has developed to become a leading consultancy in the environmental sector.

Prior to joining SLR in 1995, Neil managed the waste management group based at the head office of US owned Rust Environmental. In this role he had full technical and budgetary responsibility for this technical group. Neil also worked previously for Dames and Moore International (now URS) where he gained additional experience in undertaking international consultancy projects.

Glenn Thomas

Glenn Thomas is the Heggies' Company Secretary. In addition, Glenn also takes corporate management responsibility for Equipment Control and Data Systems.

Glenn has been consulting in environmental noise and vibration for over fifteen years, and has expertise in computer modelling of environmental noise, as well as the monitoring of noise, vibration and overpressure emissions from resource, industrial and transportation projects.

Glenn has also presented expert evidence at Public Inquiry Hearings for major resource development projects and is fully conversant with the assessment and licence requirements and development approval processes for such projects.

Peter Georgiou

Dr Peter Georgiou is a Director of the company and Heggies' Business Development Director. In addition, Peter also takes corporate management responsibility for Project Control and Design Control.

Peter has twenty-five years experience in a variety of fields including wind engineering, building structural dynamics, environmental noise and vibration (for major transportation and industrial projects), solar and ESD/energy assessment as well as environmental risk assessments covering air quality, pollutant dispersion and climate risk (tropical cyclones and other severe storm systems).

Peter has had experience in major international projects in North America, Australia and South East Asia and has represented major clients at Public Inquiries and Local, State and Federal Court Hearings.

Shane Elkin

Shane Elkin is a senior mechanical engineer with almost ten years of experience in the acoustic and vibration industry. Shane is the North West Region Manager, and is responsible for market development, human resource issues and quality assurance for Queensland.

Shane is a Member of the Australian Acoustic Society, Institution of Engineers Australia and is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.

Shane has expertise in the measurement and analysis of noise and vibration from roadways, railways, industrial, mining and construction sites as well as the prediction of noise and the design of ameliorative measures. Shane is also highly competent in the use of the SoundPLAN computer model.

John Cotterill

John is a senior civil engineer with over twenty years industry experience specialising in the fields of acoustics and vibration for the last 18 years.

His experience includes evaluation, assessment and control of noise and vibration in a wide range of industrial, resource development and commercial projects with particular expertise in the fields of noise, vibration and blasting control in the mining and quarrying industries.

His skills in acoustics also include building services noise control, preparation of environmental impact statements, airblast and ground vibration monitoring and noise emission computer modelling and analysis.

Katie Teyhan

Katie completed her double degree program at the University of Newcastle in 2002 with Honours Class 1. As part of her Mechanical Engineering degree program Katie completed two major research projects. The first was a Student Fellowship with the Anglo-Australian Observatory involving the research and testing of an innovative astronomical instrument; and secondly, as her final year project at University, the measurement and analysis of bending strains produced in a 600 Watt wind turbine blade.

Since September 2002, she has been working for Heggies as a Project Consultant in the Newcastle office and recently in February 2009 promoted to the Newcastle Office Manager.

Mark Caslin

Mark Caslin is an acoustic consultant with experience in environmental and industrial noise assessment and control. Mark has over eight years experience as an acoustic consultant where he worked on a number of environmental and industrial assessments. These projects have included measurement, prediction and analysis of noise and vibration emissions from construction and manufacturing industries, mining activities, materials handling operations and road/rail vehicles.

Mark is competent in the use of the noise prediction modelling software (SoundPLAN) and in developing noise contours for proposed transportation systems and large industrial developments.

Mark is familiar with the application of environmental legislation, at local, State and Commonwealth Government levels. Mark has been involved on a large number of projects requiring project management skills, proposal preparation, report preparation.

Gustaf Reutersward

Gustaf Reutersward graduated with honours from the UNSW in Mechanical Engineering and has specialised in acoustics and vibration since 1993. He is the Manager of Heggies’ Melbourne Office, having benefited from the experience of managing Heggies branch offices in Newcastle and Brisbane.

Gustaf has a broad range of experience in a variety of projects with specific expertise in the measurement, assessment and control of environmental noise (road, rail, industrial and mining), computer noise modelling, noise mitigation and architectural acoustics, occupational noise exposure, machine vibration condition monitoring and construction noise and vibration assessment.

He has been involved in many high profile transport and mineral resource projects in Australia and Scandinavia and has prepared and presented expert evidence at Commissions of Inquiry.

David Lindsey has over 20 years experience in a wide range of acoustical engineering projects.

David has a degree in Applied Science, is a Corporate Member of the Australian Acoustical Society, and represents the Heggies Sydney Office at the Association of Australian Acoustical Consultants. Mr Lindsey has specialised in the assessment of noise emissions and the design of practical mitigation measures from transportation systems and defence facilities. He has conducted numerous high profile acoustical studies and assisted in the authority and community consultation process for a number of projects.

David has prepared and presented expert evidence at Court Hearings and Commissions of Inquiry.
