Personal Profile

Neil has been Managing Director of SLR Consulting Ltd since 2001 and is also a Director of SLR Management Ltd and SLR (Ireland). Neil has direct responsibility for the day to day operation of the UK consulting business and the development and growth of the company. Since 2001, SLR Consulting has developed to become a leading consultancy in the environmental sector.

Prior to joining SLR in 1995, Neil managed the waste management group based at the head office of US owned Rust Environmental. In this role he had full technical and budgetary responsibility for this technical group. Neil also worked previously for Dames and Moore International (now URS) where he gained additional experience in undertaking international consultancy projects.

During Neil's 19 years consultancy experience he has gained extensive experience undertaking environmental projects throughout the UK, eastern and western mainland Europe, Middle East and South America.

Neil has specialist expertise in the waste management sector and has wide ranging project management experience on feasibility, assessment, permitting, engineering design, construction management, planning and PFI tender support projects for private and public sector clients and funding agencies. Neil has acted as an expert witness in planning public inquiry and in litigation cases for both waste management operators and local authorities. In addition, he has acted a specialist technical advisor in relation to various national waste management issues for DEFRA and the Isle of Man Government.

Neil also has extensive experience in mineral and geotechnical related projects.
